Alejandra de Santiago

About Me

Alejandra de Santiago is a Class of 2029 goalkeeper who has played the position since she first stepped onto a field at age three in Spain. She has never played anywhere else on the pitch — the goal was an early choice and a permanent one, and twelve years in it have given her a reading of the game between the posts that is unusual at her age. She was developed in the youth leagues of Madrid and moved to Miami five years ago, where she has competed for several clubs and has consistently trained and played above her age group. Every one of those moves came through a recommendation rather than an open tryout: coaches who had seen her play, or worked with her directly, put her name forward for the next program — as much for the teammate she is as for what she does in goal. She currently plays for ACF in the ECNL (Girls U15), one of the most competitive youth environments in the United States.
